the sopranos movie
Does anyone here think that there will be a Sopranos movie?
Being a huge fan of The Sopranos as i imagine most of you are. I would love to see a Sopranos movie. Unfortunately, as of right now there are no plans for one. I don’t think it is going to happen down the road either. The way the series ended with some of the major characters being killed (and others presumably killed) it would be difficult to make a movie that takes place after the finale. If they wanted to make a movie that takes place prior to the finale, that would be difficult as well as the actors have aged. Even though some of the cast want to do a movie, I really think David Chase is done with it and is moving on to other things. Earlier this year he signed a deal with Paramount to write, direct, and produce his first feature film (see source link below).
Having said all of that, I still have hope that we will see a Sopranos movie someday. Maybe it could be a prequel…I think that will always be an open possibility. While that is a good idea for a project, I think most of us want to see the same characters and actors though.
No doubt that a Sopranos movie would bring in some major money, and that is always the bottom line. The recent Sex and the City movie was very successful, so hopefully the studio executives took notice and will consider the possibility of a Sopranos movie. As long as such a project will make money, there will always be the possibility for a movie.
